Apple Betty Dessert

INGREDIENTS:

  • 5lbs. apples, sliced

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup orange juice

  • 1 tbsp orange zest

 

Topping:

  • 8oz butter

  • 12oz granola 

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1 tsp cinnamon 

Note: Try this recipe with 2 tbsp Rays Warm Apple Pie added to the apple mixture and 1 tbsp Rays Warm Apple Pie added to the topping

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat recteq® to 350°F.

  2. Combine apples with cinnamon, cornstarch, maple syrup, orange juice, and zest in a large bowl.

  3. For the topping, mix the softened butter, granola, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon, then mix well.

  4. Lightly oil a 12" cast-iron skillet and add all of the apple mixture.

  5. Add the topping in an even layer across the pan.

  6. Cook for 45-60 minutes until the topping is lightly browned and the apples are soft.

  7. Let rest for 25-30 minutes.
